Call to Order: Chairman David Brose called the meeting to order at 12:145 pm.
Members Present: Mary Ellen Agar, Ron Bigelow, Barbara Brose, David Brose, Cliff Davidson,
Chairman’s Report: David met with Dr. Montgomery recently, It was a cordial and productive
meeting. David reviewed a bit of FOHEC history, explaining FOHEC’s position regarding historic
buildings. He noted that there is local, state and national interest in nominating WMU’s
remaining WPA buildings for the National Register; President Montgomery is going to look into
the matter further, and recommends that David meet with David Dakin to explore this in more
detail. Dr. Montgomery was pleased to learn of the internships funded by FOHEC members and
Treasurer's Report: Treasurer Ron Bigelow reported that FOHEC’s balance is virtually the
same as at last quarter.
Secretary’s Minutes: Barbara Brose provided brief notes on the January meeting, and will
Motion: Jerre James moved that up to $900 be expended for the audio/video recording device
previously discussed. Mary Ellen seconded the motion. Motion passed.
David will check with Lynn Houghton to make sure our purchase is compatible with WMU requirements,
and will then purchase the equipment. Barbara will interview Kenneth Pratt, and
then Jerre will conduct a series of interviews at Friendship Village.
Communications Initiative: David asked who has the most recent FOHEC mailing list. Ron offered
to email it. David asked Barbara to help draft a newsletter for members. Barbara suggested
we post our Bylaws on the website, and will send out a PDF for Mary Ellen, and for the
Board members for reference.
WMU continues to host a FOHEC page at WMU.edu/foec. David will work with staff to develop
a link directing readers to the FOHEC page www.FOHEC.org. Mary Ellen will change the bronco
image as soon as Barbara finds one and sends it to her.
